Location Tracking Policy

Effective date: August 13, 2026

Overview

This policy describes how Logmy.Work, a workforce time and attendance product operated by Vlemon LLP, uses device location. It supplements our Logmy.Work Privacy Policy. Location is used for one purpose: verifying that a clock-in, clock-out, or attendance event happened at an employer-defined job site — it is not used for marketing, advertising, or tracking your life outside of work sessions.

When location is collected

Location is only collected when both of the following are true: your organization has enabled location/geofencing policy for your workspace, and you have granted location permission through your device's standard permission prompt. If either condition isn't met, no location data is collected.

What's collected

  • GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, accuracy, timestamp) at clock-in, clock-out, and job-site arrival/departure
  • Whether you're inside or outside an employer-defined geofence (a named site with an address and radius)
  • Travel time vs. on-site time, derived from the events above
  • On Android and iOS, approximate location while a time session is actively running, but only if your organization has enabled background location for live geofence monitoring

Android permissions

Logmy.Work requests ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION depending on the precision your organization's geofencing configuration needs. Background location is requested only when your organization uses live, always-on geofence monitoring — never by default. This is disclosed in the app's Play Store "Location" data-safety declaration.

iOS permissions

By default, Logmy.Work requests "When In Use" location access. "Always"/background access is requested only if your organization has enabled geofence arrival/departure tracking that needs to detect site entry while the app isn't open. iOS permission prompts describe this purpose as work-site verification — not advertising or tracking other apps.

When location stops being collected

Location collection stops the moment you clock out, if you revoke location permission in your device settings, or if your organization hasn't enabled geofencing at all. We do not collect or retain location once your session ends.

Your choice

Granting location access is always done through your device's own permission system — never silently. Declining it will block features that specifically require it (such as geofenced clock-in), but does not necessarily prevent you from using the rest of Logmy.Work, depending on how your organization has configured the workspace. You can review or revoke location permission at any time in your device's Settings for the Logmy.Work app.

What location is not used for

We do not use location data for advertising, sell it to data brokers, or continue tracking your location after a work session ends. It is used exclusively for the work-site verification purpose described above.

Your organization's responsibility

Employers enabling geofencing must have a lawful basis to do so under the employment and privacy laws in their jurisdiction — typically the employment relationship, a legitimate business interest in verifying on-site work, or consent where local law requires it — and must notify affected employees that location is being collected, consistent with our Logmy.Work Terms.

Retention and deletion

Location data tied to a work record (such as a clock-in event) is retained as long as that record exists and is deleted along with it, or with your account, per our Logmy.Work Privacy Policy.
