Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Vlemon LLP ("we", "us") handles information when you use The Spark Index desktop application for Windows (the "App"). This policy operates alongside Vlemon's master Common Legal Terms.

1. Summary

The Spark Index is designed as a local-first product. Index catalogs, analytics mirrors, preferences, and operation logs are stored on your computer. We do not operate a mandatory cloud account for core indexing features.

2. Information processed on your device

• File metadata such as paths, names, sizes, timestamps, and optional SHA-256 checksums for files you choose to index.
• Local databases under your Windows AppData folder (for example %APPDATA%\the-spark-index\), including file-index.sqlite and related analytics files.
• Preferences and mappings such as exclusions, FTP connection settings you enter, and folder upload mappings.
• Diagnostic logs written locally to help you troubleshoot indexing or transfer issues.
• Optional reputation checks against a local hash pack shipped with or stored beside the App (no automatic upload of file contents for this feature).

3. Network features you may enable

Some features only run after you configure them:

• FTP / FTPS uploads send selected files to servers you specify. Credentials you save are stored locally on your device.
• Cloud connections (for example Microsoft 365 / SharePoint, Google, or S3-compatible endpoints) may transmit authentication tokens and file data to those providers according to their terms when those features are enabled and used.
• Optional model or CDN endpoints referenced by experimental features may be contacted only when those features are used.

We do not receive the contents of your FTP or cloud transfers unless you separately send logs or support materials to us.

4. Data we collect as publisher

The App does not include mandatory telemetry that reports your file catalog to Vlemon. If you contact support, we may receive the information you choose to share (email content, screenshots, or log excerpts).

5. Children

The App is intended for general productivity use and is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the App to process children's data in a way that would require parental consent under applicable law without appropriate safeguards.

6. Security

Local databases and FTP credentials are stored on your device. Protect your Windows account. Prefer FTPS when your server supports it. You can delete AppData files and uninstall the App to remove local catalogs.

7. Your choices

• Choose which drives and folders to index.
• Disable or remove FTP / cloud mappings at any time.
• Delete local AppData catalogs, preferences, and logs.
• Uninstall the App via Windows Settings.

8. Microsoft Store disclosures

When distributed through the Microsoft Store, capability and data-type declarations in Partner Center describe the App's access to the filesystem, local network/engine processes, and optional internet communication for features you enable. Core catalog data remains on-device.

9. Updates & version checks

Sideloaded builds may contact Vlemon-operated HTTPS endpoints (including rbdo.in) to check for version updates and download installers. Microsoft Store builds use Store update channels.

10. Compliance

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
